COVID-19 Safety Protocols
UPDATED COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS - PALM SPRINGS FILM SOCIETY REQUIRES PROOF OF FULL VACCINATION FOR ALL STAFF, VOLUNTEERS AND ATTENDEES
Until we are past this pandemic, we must all do our part so we can get back to enjoying what we love. For us, it’s the sense of community being together in a theater enjoying a film with others, and honoring the artists who have put their heart and soul into making their passion project and sharing it for us to see on the big screen. To ensure the safety and comfort of our staff and guests, we must institute the following safety protocols so we can all be together.
The 2022 Palm Springs International Film Festival will require all attendees (pass holders and ticket holders), volunteers, staff, guests, sponsors, media, and vendors to show valid proof of full vaccination in order to enter Festival venues and events. To keep all patrons as safe as possible, no exceptions to this policy will be allowed.
For the Film Festival, each person attending will be required to show their vaccination card and photo ID in person and sign a waiver. The person will then be issued a wristband, which will need to be worn for the duration of the festival visit. If the band is removed or lost, they will need to go through the process again. Specific details on the vaccination verification process will be provided as the festival draws closer.
The Film Society will additionally be self-limiting theater capacities to no more than 75% and requiring masks for all.
The Film Awards will be requiring all event staff, vendors, sponsors, media and attendees to show their vaccination card and photo ID in person and sign a waiver prior to attending the event. Specific details on the entry and vaccination verification process will be provided as the Film Awards draws closer. Masks will also be required for all event staff, vendors and media. For questions regarding the Film Awards please email email@example.com. Click HERE for more information on the Film Awards.
Depending on the COVID-19 conditions at the time of the festival, additional testing may be required by the Riverside County health department and the state of California.
The vaccination policy, limited only as required by law, will be in full effect beginning October 4, 2021 to incorporate Member Screenings and Community Events.
The Palm Springs Film Society will continue to require masks at all member and community events, continue cleaning and safety procedures at venues and the office, and ask volunteers, staff, and attendees to remain home with any indication of illness.
The vaccination policy will be implemented as an open-ended one, with any changes or reversals informed by updates relating to infection rates, transmission data, variant developments, and local and federal regulations.
COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. There is an inherent and elevated risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public place or place where people are present and there is no guarantee, express or implied, that those attending the festival will not be exposed to COVID-19.
ATTENDEE PROMISE & HEALTH ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
All attendees agree to follow festival policies (including health and safety policies) and posted instructions while at the festival. According to the CDC, older adults and people of all ages with serious underlying medical conditions may be at higher risk of death or severe illness from COVID-19. All attendees should evaluate their risk in determining whether to attend the festival. By entering the festival, attendees voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and confirm that they will adhere to local quarantine mandates and the CDC quarantine requirements, available at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/if-you-are-sick/quarantine.html.
HOW DO I SHOW PROOF OF VACCINATION WHEN I ARRIVE?
Steps for vaccination check:
1. Visit one of our vaccination checkpoints and present valid proof of full vaccination with photo ID and sign a waiver
2. A wristband will be placed on each attendees wrist that will need to be worn for the duration of the festival.

PASSHOLDERS may show the required documentation at time of pass pick-up at the respected pass pick-up sites. If you are picking up a pass for another attendee, they will have to complete the vaccination verification process above.

The mask exemption form may be downloaded HERE.
Individuals for whom mask wearing may only be difficult are not eligible to request a mask exemption. More details on the CDC order and what qualifies for an exemption can be found here: https://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/masks/mask-travel-guidance.html#disability-exemptions.
