RSVP INSTRUCTIONS: MEMBER SCREENINGS
We've recently updated our ticketing system and there is a new process to RSVP for member screenings. Watch the video tutorial for how to RSVP for member screenings.
COVID-19 VACCINATION REQUIREMENT
Beginning Monday, October 4, 2021 all Film Society Members will be required to show proof of full vaccination when attending member screenings. Click HERE for full details of COVID-19 protocols regarding the Film Festival. FAQ's regarding member screenings are below.
COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. There is an inherent and elevated risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public place or place where people are present and there is no guarantee, express or implied, that those attending the festival will not be exposed to COVID-19.
ATTENDEE PROMISE & HEALTH ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
All attendees agree to follow festival policies (including health and safety policies) and posted instructions while attending member events. According to the CDC, older adults and people of all ages with serious underlying medical conditions may be at higher risk of death or severe illness from COVID-19. All attendees should evaluate their risk in determining whether to attend the festival. By entering the festival, attendees voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and confirm that they will adhere to local quarantine mandates and the CDC quarantine requirements, available at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/if-you-are-sick/quarantine.html.
WHAT VACCINES WILL BE ACCEPTED?
“Fully Vaccinated” in the USA is 10 days following two doses of Moderna or Pfizer vaccine or a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Visiting from another country, please see below.
I HAVE PURCHASED A MEMBERSHIP ALREADY BUT DO NOT PLAN ON BEING VACCINATED?
If you have purchased a Film Society membership in 2021 and are unable or unwilling to provide the requested documentation, you may request a refund. Refunds will be considered for those who have purchased a membership in 2021 and have not exhausted their benefits. The period for refund requests will begin on October 1 and will end December 1, 2021. Requests will be accepted via email to firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 760-322-2930 x222.
HOW DO I SHOW PROOF OF VACCINATION WHEN I ARRIVE AT A MEMBERS SCREENING?
Upon arrival at the theater, please present one of the options below to our staff or volunteers at the check-in desk.
Valid forms of vaccination proof include a valid photo ID and:
- Original, copy or electronic photo of the CDC vaccination card (or similar documentation issued by another foreign governmental jurisdiction); or
- documentation from a healthcare provider; or
- personal digital COVID-19 vaccine record issued by the State of California available by going to https://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov; or
- personal digital COVID-19 vaccine record issued by another State, local, or foreign governmental jurisdiction; or
- personal digital COVID-19 vaccine record issued by an approved private company.
The following companies provide digital vaccine cards approved for use:
- Bindle (businesses using this must also check against a photo ID)
- CLEAR HealthPass
- CommonPass (businesses using this must also check against a photo ID)
- VaxYes (using their level 2 verification)
WILL ANTIGEN TESTS OR NOTE FROM MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL CONFIRMING A PRIOR COVID-19 INFECTION BE ACCEPTED?
No, only proof of full vaccination will be accepted for entry.
WILL YOU KEEP MY VACCINATION RECORD ON FILE?
No, the Palm Springs Film Society will not keep documentation of your vaccination status on file nor will it be noted in your digital membership record. Therefore you will have to show proof of vaccination at EACH member screening you attend.
WHAT OTHER COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS HAVE BEEN IMPLEMENTED?
The Palm Springs Film Society will continue to require masks at all member and community events and continue cleaning and safety procedures. We ask that anyone exhibiting signs of illness or who has close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case to remain home for the recommended quarantine period.
We will limit capacities at member screenings to no more than 75% to allow for extra space. Members should understand that this will affect how many RSVP’s will be accepted. We ask that if you do not plan to attend, do not RSVP as you will be taking a seat away from other members who will attend.
WHAT IF I HAVE A MEDICAL CONDITION OR RELIGIOUS BELIEF THAT EXEMPTS ME FROM GETTING VACCINATED?
Don’t come. It will compromise your safety and the safety of others. If you’ve purchased a membership after February 1, 2021, please request a refund at email@example.com or call 760-322-2930 x222.
WHAT ABOUT ATTENDEES UNDER THE AGE OF 5?
As the vaccine has not been approved for use on kids under age 5, we are asking that all children under the age of 5 not attend Member Screenings at this time. All children 5+ will need to show proof of vaccination.
WILL I STILL HAVE TO WEAR A MASK?
All attendees, staff, volunteers, etc. will be required to wear masks inside at all venues and events at all times. Masks may only be removed briefly once seated in the auditorium and only while enjoying concessions. Masks are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED outside of venues, while in line, or gathering in large groups.
I HAVE NO INTENTION OF GETTING VACCINATED, SO WHAT NOW?
Please do not plan to attend Film Society member screenings or purchase a membership.
