Drive-in Policy

In compliance with State and County requirements, the following safety guidelines have been established to protect guests and staff:

COVID SAFETY GUIDELINES

  • Face coverings (covering mask & nose) must to be worn while entering the venue and anytime outside of your vehicle. 
  • Guests must remain inside their vehicles for the duration of the film, except when using the restroom or purchasing concessions
  • Guests are not permitted to sit outside of the vehicle, this includes pick-up truck beds. 
  • We ask that all guests adhere to social distancing of at least six (6) feet at all times.
  • Admittance will not be granted to any event guests outside of a vehicle.
    • There are no “walk-ins”, bicycles, or motorcycles permitted

ARRIVAL INSTRUCTIONS: ENTRY, EXIT, & PARKING

  • The venue will open 60 minutes before the listed screening start time. Vehicles will be guided to parking spots by event staff. Please do not arrive before this time as we will not be creating a queue.
  • Palm Springs International Film Society will utilize no-contact ticket scanning upon arrival to the Drive-In. Please print out your ticket or have it ready on your mobile device for scanning through your vehicle’s window. 
  • Only one ticket per vehicle is needed.
  • There is no re-entry to the Drive-In. If you must leave the Drive-In at any time in your vehicle, you will not be allowed back in. There are no exceptions.
  • There is no assigned parking. You will be guided into a space by parking attendants on a first come, first served basis. 
  • Larger vehicles including large pick-ups, suvs, lifted vehicles, will be parked in the rear as to not impede others view
  • Drive-In speed limit is 10 MPH at all times.
  • Drive-In @ the Air Museum is not paved, please account for slight variations in grade and terrain while driving.

WATCHING THE FILM & SOUND

  • Headlights and interior lights must be turned off once your vehicle is parked.
    • If you are unsure how to turn off your daytime running lights, please refer to your vehicle’s manual for instructions.
  • All vehicle engines must be turned off for the duration of the program. Feel free to keep your vehicle in Accessory Mode to access the FM radio.
    • Please refer to your driver’s manual for instructions on how to do this.
    • Onsite assistance will be available if you experience any vehicle trouble after the screening.
  • You may access the sound through your vehicle’s FM radio. You can also access the sound on a portable FM radio. You can rent an FM radio for $3.00 when you arrive if needed.
  • Vehicle windows are to remain closed until the vehicle is parked.
    • If you roll down your window once your vehicle is parked, all occupants are required to be wearing face masks.
  • Closed Captioning devices are not available for the Drive-In.
  • The use of cameras and other recording equipment is strictly prohibited during all screenings and programs. Any guests caught recording will be asked to delete any recording and leave immediately

RESTROOMS

Yes. Restroom facilities will be available onsite, although it is encouraged to use the restroom before arriving. All onsite restrooms will undergo enhanced cleanings before, during and after each event. All guests are expected to practice social distancing while waiting in line for the restrooms.

FOOD AND DRINK

  • Concessions will be available.  Enjoy pre-packaged popcorn, kettle corn, drinks, and candy. Credit Cards and cash are acceptable forms of payment
  • Outside food and beverages are permitted. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted. 
  • We ask that you take your trash with you and dispose of it at home to limit contact and potential spreading of germs.

ADDITIONAL POLICIES

  • No smoking or vaping is permitted at the drive-in. 
  • Pets are not permitted at the Drive-In, with the exception of service animals as defined by the ADA.
