How To Fest
All Filmmakers and Forum Industry wishing to attend ShortFest must complete a complimentary registration form.
Filmmakers: you should have received a link from Guest Relations.
Forum Industry: you should have received a link from the Forum Team.
Passes must be picked up at Registration located inside the Hilton Palm Springs, 400 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way, Palm Springs 92262, beginning Monday, June 19.

HOW TO WATCH FILMS
Lines will form outside the theater and we will begin seating approximately 40 minutes prior to showtime.
All passes will be scanned upon entry.
No late seating. If the program starts and you haven’t arrived, you will be denied entry (even if there are seats available). Late seating is disruptive to the audience.
PARTICIPATING IN YOUR Q&As
A group Q&A will take place after each program screening with all attending filmmakers for that program.
***You are required to check in at the Filmmaker Check-In Desk (located near the main entrance at the Camelot Theatres) 30 minutes before your screening starts***
Do not go directly into the theatre when you get to your screening - we will not know that you are here to participate in your intro and Q&A if you do not check in with us at the Filmmaker Check-In Desk
Why so early? We'll be taking professional photos of you and your team at our step-and-repeat and we'll also introduce you to the programmer moderating your Q&A.
Please note that public transportation is not readily available in the Palm Springs area and the weather will be extremely warm, so be sure to plan ahead and not rely on walking to and from the theater.
FILMMAKER & INDUSTRY LOUNGE
The Filmmaker & Industry Lounge is the casual hangout spot located at our host hotel, Hilton Palm Springs. Here, you'll find fellow filmmakers and industry guests to network with.
June 20: 12 pm – 5 pm | June 21 – June 24: 9 am – 6 pm | June 25: 9 am - 5 pm | June 26: 9 am – 12 pm
*A Filmmaker or Industry Pass is required for entry.
The ShortFest Forum is the "classroom" educational component of the Festival where we hold panels, lectures, and intimate conversations and provide filmmakers actual face time with working industry professionals. They focus on the art and industry of filmmaking and offer filmmakers a first-hand opportunity to listen, learn, and network with a group of industry professionals specializing in their fields.
All Forum events will be held in person at the Hilton Palm Springs from June 23 – June 25.

The ShortFest Video Library is a digital library that consists of hundreds of ShortFest 2023 Official Selection and submitted films that filmmakers have opted-in to share with accredited sales agents, distributors, and other industry representatives. The Video Library is hosted on FilmFreeway and accredited Industry are given access to participating films' FilmFreeway submission screeners. The Video Library is not a public screening, so it will not affect a film's premiere status.

Do I get a discount on tickets with my Filmmaker Badge?
Yes, filmmaker discounts are available ONLY at walk-up.
How many people can participate in the Q&A?
Depending on the number of filmmakers present, we generally recommend 1-2 members per film team participate in the Q&A.
