High up in the mountains of rural Iceland, Maria (Noomi Rapace) and Ingvar (Hilmir Snær Guðnason) are a childless couple accustomed to a serene, prosaic routine living with their pets on the farm where they breed sheep. But after discovering an unnatural newborn in their sheep barn, everything as they know it changes.
