He left home to fight for the Austro-Hungarian empire and now, after spending two years as a prisoner of war, he returns to an insignificant new country and a social order that seems upside-down. Bitter but driven by duty and his personal connection to the murdered men, he joins forces with an unflappable coroner (Liv Lisa Fries) to bring the killer to justice. But his former boss, an odious opportunist with a thing for Perg’s wife, seems ready to thwart him at every turn, and the murderer soon has Perg in his sights.
