director biography

Lael is a writer, director and creative director for the award-winning commercial and original content production agency All is Well. Lael directed the pilot of the comedy webseries Northern Belles (2016) which won an Audience Award at the National Film Festival for Talented Youth, and was praised by CityArts Magazine as "the show Seattle needs and deserves right now." Her latest short film, I See Through You (2018), a 1970s set feminist sci-fi, premiered at the Seattle International Film Festival and screened nationally at festivals such as Hollyshorts, BendFilm, and Sound Unseen among others. Lael was awarded the Seattle Story Award by Film Independent and Visit Seattle to make The Claw, a punk rock body horror comedy, set to release fall 2019 at a Rolling Stone premiere in New York. She continues to write about women, their bodies, and the weird s**t that happens to them.
