A word from director Abena Taylor-Smith

"I wanted to cast a black femme lens on suburban childhoods; and to explore the idea that childhood, and suburbia in a way, are prisons without walls. You cannot leave because there is nowhere else to go. You hope for a better future, unsure of what that looks like. There are moments of wonder as well as constant, faint melancholy."
