director biography
Biography Joana Vogdt is a director and scriptwriter, born in Germany. She first studied film production at Filmakademie Baden-Württemburg and La Femis. After her studies, she worked for several production companies in New York and Berlin, then in a freelance capacity as dramaturgical advisor and assistant director i.a. for Wim Wenders. 2010 she also started directing documentaries. Following her selection to European Script & Pitch in 2017 with her first short-script, she was a scholar of the renowned one-year script program DrehbuchWerkstatt München at the Academy for Film and TV Munich in 2017/18. Her first short "Fluid Border" just premiered at Internationale Filmtage Hof. At the moment she’s writing on several film projects, among them her debut feature fiction film. She’s also developing as part of a writers room several series and as head writer adapting a bestseller-novel of Petra Hammesfahr (author of "The Sinner") into a series.
