director biography

Leah Dubuc is an interdisciplinary artist and filmmaker currently living and working in Los Angeles, CA. Dubuc graduated Magna Cum Laude from California College of the Arts in 2014 with a BFA in Film / Animation, and her work has been shown in film festivals and galleries internationally. In 2016, Dubuc directed and animated Christopher Walken’s Coffee Shop, an improvised short film that was featured on Short of the Week and has screened world wide. In 2018 CWCS was selected as a Vimeo Staff Pick and featured on news outlets including Fast Company and WIRED. Dubuc’s second animated short, Ghosting Tips for Ghosts, was a featured selection of the HBO Women in Comedy Festival in 2018. Additionally, Dubuc's work in experimental animation has been critically acclaimed and integrated across marketing campaigns and multimedia series. Her branded clients include Snapchat, Girlboss and BBC. Lately her work is based in playing with surreal narratives, working with non-traditional materials in animation and cultivating new representations of women in film and media.
