director biography
Gustavo Gamero (Mexico City, 1994) is a filmmaker based at Monterrey, Mexico. He studied a bachelor in Communications and Digital Media at Tecnológico de Monterrey. He has participated in an academic internship in the Filmmaking program of Unitec Institute of Technology in Auckland, New Zealand. Some of the projects he has written and directed are: Turno 66 (2015, Jury Mention in the Student Showcase - Monterrey Film Festival), Fraterno (2018, financed by Nuevo León State Comission for Arts and Culture), Antes de entrar permita salir (2018, Best Mexican Short Film Award - Festival MIX: Cine y Diversidad Sexual and Kinostart Award - FIC Monterrey), Instrucciones para soltar (2019, official selection in Oaxaca Film Fest, Cúorum Morelia and International Film Festival Rotterdam), Un encuentro inesperado (2019, Documentary Short Film Special Award from the Festival Mundial de Cine de Veracruz), Tierra (2020, winner of the 19th National Short Film Contest/By regions 2019 of the Instituto Mexicano de Cinematografía), among others.
