The Films on the Great Lawn series returns this fall with movies celebrating Mexican heritage and the pursuit of the American dream. Films take place on three consecutive Fridays in September, with movies beginning at 7:30 pm and gates opening at 7 pm. This series is inspired by the new exhibition, Carved Narrative: Los Hermanos Chávez Morado, showcasing the artwork of José and Tomás Chávez Morado, the brothers who created the Mexican column for the Annenbergs' entry court which will be showing when Sunnylands reopens Thursday, September 14. Other films in the series include My Family, September 15 and A Better Life, September 22.
Carpooling is strongly advised. Filmgoers may bring small picnics but are reminded that no large coolers are allowed at Sunnylands. Lawn chairs and seating not provided. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited. Pets are not permitted. Sunnylands is a smoke-free environment.
