film synopsis
Cautious, sensitive Angel (Iván Cáceres) and his high-spirited kid brother Franco a.k.a. Flea (César Herrera) know of life’s harsh cruelties all too well , and at far too young an age. Stuck in a prison-like boys’ reformatory in rural Chile for over a year, the pair make the best of a bad situation through simple dreams of soccer, afternoons at amusement parks and reconnecting with their absentee mother. But as Angel begins to get a sense of life’s possibilities through the influence of a caring art teacher (Paulina García), and a budding relationship with Tiare (Julia Lübbert), the appearance of a combative new inmate (Andrew Bargsted) captures the pair’s attention, leading them to join a fiery mutiny that would shock a nation in this unforgettable new film from director Claudia Huaiquimilla (Bad Influence PSIFF 2017).
