film synopsis
After her husband is gunned down in front of her eyes, Aliya (Mansha Pasha) sets off on a mission of revenge. Without much information to go on aside from a red hood and motorcycle, and with her pleas from police falling on deaf ears, Aliya launches her own investigation. She soon becomes embroiled with Adeel, a cab driver and conman itching to leave the seedy and violent city of Karachi for Dubai. Using his connections and knowledge of the underground, he agrees to help Aliya track down her husband’s killer, but only if she bankrolls his escape to the larger city. Aliya complies, launching the two on a nonstop edge-of-your-seat thrill ride through the sordid streets of Karachi. Director Kamal Khan makes his debut with this convention-busting action crime thriller, a first of its kind for Pakistani (or “Lollywood”) cinema, embracing a more realistic and gritty filmmaking style in the vein of Scorsese.
